Peter Reifsnyder

Peter Reifsnyder, 87, of Naples, Florida, passed away on September 16, 2023 at home. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on January 19, 1936 to Mary and Don Reifsnyder. Peter grew up in Waverly, Pennsylvania.

He entered Choate in 1950 where he was managing editor of The Brief and in St. Andrew’s Cabinet. After graduating from Yale in 1958, he went to Navy Officers Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. He spent two and a half years attached to FASRON-11 in Atsugi, Japan, the airfield where the U 2 was based. Then he spent two more years as Communications Officer on the USS Topeka CLG-8, a guided missile cruiser in the Pacific.

After leaving the military Peter worked at Container Corporation, Time, Inc. and as Vice President of QSP, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reader’s Digest. In 1991, he left the publishing world and bought Cleanway Industries, a cleaning and mold remediation business in Wilton, Connecticut.

A fierce competitor on the golf course and world traveler, Peter lived life to the fullest. He leaves behind his wife, Gail; his daughter, Kimberly Vincenzi and her husband Mark; his son, Donald Reifsnyder and wife Lisa; five grandchildren and two great-grands.
